Rapidly growing electronics manufacturing and engineering services company is seeking an experienced Buyer with extensive Electronics experience to add to their team.

Team member will be responsible for performing skilled activities related to the purchasing and negotiation of material and supplies from vendors. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Select parts, items, supplies and materials that meet production design and organizational needs. 
  • Research and obtain innovative and cost-effective materials that will increase product efficiency, usability, and sellability. 
  • Ensure purchasing strategies are in accordance with product design and meet manufacturing needs. 
  • Work with various departments to compile product needs, maintain accurate inventory levels, and place orders when inventory is low, outdated, or inefficient. 
  • Maintain supplier relations, negotiate contracts, prepare purchase records, and track orders.
  • Research, develop, and maintain contacts with suppliers and stay aware of ongoing benchmarking, product development, and price changes. 
  • Ensure that purchases arrive on schedule and meet organization specifications. 
  • Interface with customers (internal and/or external) to communicate and resolve issues.   
  • Document processes and procedures for quality and continuous improvement -- make recommendations for process improvements and participates in and/or lead price improvement efforts as required.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience in the demand management and production control disciplines.  Knowledge of specialized equipment and systems used within the demand management discipline and ability to apply standard techniques.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data of a complex nature.
  • Excellent knowledge of production and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work well in a team and display demonstrated leadership skills when necessary.
  • Effective communication skills, both internally and externally. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer documentation, safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively negotiate internally and externally in order to meet or exceed organizational objectives.
  • Capability to work under minimal supervision and demonstrates strong skills in reasoning and analysis.
  • Some certifications may be required.
