Leading manufacturer of automotive systems seeks a 2nd shift CNC Programming Technician to help staff an expanding company!  Be a part of a team that helps create parts found in tens of thousands of heavy-duty
trucks and buses currently on the road around the world!

On a production basis, the CNC Programming Technician is responsible for programming, fabricating, machining, and positioning aluminum and steel parts along with other components.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Verify conformance of materials to specifications using a variety of tools to achieve this objective (tape measure, calipers, height gage, etc.).
  • Study drawings, blueprints, and/or work instructions to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
  • Cut, bend, and machine parts to meet specifications.
  • Program CNC Fabrication Equipment (Laser, Press Brake, 3 and 4 axis vertical machines, lathe, tube bender, saw), amongst others, using CAM software or G&M Codes.
  • Set up, program, and operate various fabricating machines that are needed to complete the assigned operations.
  • Prioritize work assignments and duties and maintain order at all times, including in the absence of the supervisor or team leader.
  • May layout and examine metals stock or materials to be processed.
  • Lifting or moving materials using a variety of devices (forklift, crane).
  • Troubleshoot and performs minor repairs to equipment.
  • Train and guide new employees as needed.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED and/or training/certificate from trade school.
  • Programming knowledge of Laser, Press Brake, and other CNC types of equipment listed above.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related metal forming, machining, and fabrication experience; preferably in an automotive or aerospace environment.
  • Must have very good understanding of the metals aluminum and steel.
  • Must know how to use different tools and equipment used in the metals trades (both hand and automatic).
  • Must have previous experience/ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently but also maintain a team mentality.
