ENGINEERING MANAGER
A leader in exterior building products across North America is a seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for their Plant in Vacaville, CA.   
 
The Engineering Manager will direct and coordinate the design, planning, construction, maintenance and
alteration of equipment, machinery and buildings throughout the manufacturing facilities. This role helps
the facilities to meet customer requirements in relation to cost, quality, safety, production, and delivery.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Visually inspects production facilities and evaluates maximum utilization of available space and coordinates facility layout.
  • Manages the facilities HVAC systems, lighting, and other operational factors.
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including cost eliminations, bid sheets, layouts and contacts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Performs audits to support facility planning.
  • Forecasts operating cost of engineering department and directs preparation of the individual facilities capital budget requests.
  • Develops forwarding thinking plans, conceptual designs and capital outlay requirements as well as documentation for the facilities.
  • Formulates and coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals, and contacts with associated documents.
  • Acts as liaison to public utility and environmental agencies.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Resolves problems using solutions that involve SMART (continuous improvement) business systems and techniques, new technology, and 5SW principles.
  • Manages all projects and staff associated with Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, Janitorial, and Building and Grounds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing) or Industrial Technology.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience in a management or leadership role is desired.
  • Commitment to customer service and quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Strong work ethic, leadership, and management skills.
  • Good rapport and communication skills with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and supporting documents.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Project Management software.
