Field Service Technician
 
Our company, an engineered driven crane manufacturer, has built a reputation on serving the steel, paper, injection mold industries, general contractors, municipalities and a variety of other manufacturing companies.  Our specialty is the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of overhead cranes and runway systems.  The Raleigh, NC position has very minimal overnight travel (2-3 days a month) and covers a territory mostly in North Carolina.  Level I, II and III technician positions available.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Troubleshoot and Repair broken down bridge cranes, jib cranes, etc,
  2. Review drawings, order material, plan layout and wire cranes with lights, footwalks, flux vector and cabs
  3. Convert old cranes with 480 volt rope & drum controls to pb or radio
  4. Go to manufacturing sites, evaluate needs, quote customer, create P.O. and install equipment
  5. Troubleshoot programs and controls
  6. Install various inverters and radio units in cranes
  7. Work on stacker cranes and other cranes with unusual components that require reading OEM Manuals
  8. Ability to be lead inspector, when two or more techs are on an inspection job, coordinate the work, paperwork, review reports, review with customer and service manager.
  9. Ability to interact with Plant Managers, Company Owners and Maintenance Managers in a professional manner
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. Associates degree in Electrical Technology or related field, preferred
  2. 2+ years experience servicing overhead cranes
  3. Knowledge and understanding of 3-phase motor controls, required
  4. Clean driving record required
