GENERAL SUMMARY: Creates, maintains and verifies the schedule using Oracle JD Edwards and Oracle Production Scheduling application. Regularly interfaces with product engineers, production and other managers to streamline production schedules by optimizing production levels and meeting on time delivery requirements.  Works to minimize labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.  Provides ad hoc production schedule scenarios to accommodate requests from sales and/or operations.  Provides feedback to product engineers related to product structure improvements and process flows improvements.

       Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
 
       Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organization.
 
       Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP systems, MRP, Planning Software, Advanced Excel Skills, and Word Processing software.
 
       Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  APICS certificate desirable.
 
 ??   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Utilizes Oracle JD Edwards and Production Scheduling to review manufacturing release schedules.
  2. Develop scheduling methodology that delivers a stable schedule, while still delivering agility when/where needed to support customer requirements.
  3. Compile and report monthly schedule metrics.
  4. Providing metrics indicating average weekly throughput, queue, and non-earning hours per machine resource. Providing suggested root cause when able.
  5. Evaluating new or changed customer orders / escalations relative to shop load and delivery lead times and prioritizing/re-prioritizing jobs accordingly.
  6. Ensuring OTD to promised dates.
  7. Reviewing new products/parts planning attributes and ensuring they are set up correctly.
  8. Reviewing BOM and Route structures.
  9. Periodically reviewing critical ERP planning attributes and keeping them aligned.
  10. Reviewing Engineering Change Orders, preparing implementation plans and following up on them.
  11. Releasing required work orders in a timely fashion and promptly pushing their status to completion after reconciling variances.
  12. Ensure that materials are available when needed and that inventory counts are accurate.
