A publicly traded, global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components is looking to add a Production Supervisor to its growing team! The Production Supervisor's primary duties are to supervise and schedule shop operations while ensuring a safe work environment, product quality, and efficient operations. Job Description

Primary Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure the highest level of safety and good housekeeping in the work environment through the implementation of company safety practices
  • Supervise and manage production crews. Responsible for correct techniques, methods, sequence, safe operations, and to ensure a quality product
  • Preplan jobs and coordinate Shop scheduling with multiple departments to assure that stock, tooling, workforce, and equipment are available for production.
  • Organize and assigns work to employees by utilizing managerial skills such as human relations and knowledge of equipment and employee capabilities
  • Determine workforce requirements, job sequences to ensure prompt job starts. Communicate crew changes and provide required production data for payroll
  • Communicate downtime and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering as appropriate, to diagnose machine and equipment malfunctions
  • Expedite repairs and corrective measures to minimize schedule interruptions
  • Provide information related to deviations in process or product
  • Participate in corrective action investigations and implement corrective action as necessary
  • Support Engineering department in tooling, methods, and procedure/process revision tryouts to improve quality, reduce costs, and develop production methods for new jobs
  • Promote employee involvement in problem solving and participation in operational teams. Support employee and operational initiatives, continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts

  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Strong verbal, written, and employee relations skills
  • Competency in Windows-based software such as Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated experience in a demanding fast paced environment
  • Detail oriented, organized, and exhibit a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to work weekends and 2nd or 3rd shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Experience in metalworking operations
